  • jock, like my daughter before her, my granddaughter will get to make her own decisions, based on what she sees around her, what she learns, and what resonates within her, just like i did. i don't see the stories as fables, and my daughter is still deciding.

  • I believe. My family isn't convinced. We don't use our differing opinions as weapons to beat each other over the head. We do celebrate Christmas; I do it because i believe, my family because they love me, and each other, and we enjoy embracing the warmth of the holiday.

  • Washington State got stimulus money, Washington State has military bases. Washington State's budget is still in the crapper and my husband is still unemployed, just like way too many Washingtonians. What did Rick Perry do that Christine Gregoire (may she rot, please) not do?

  • Always lived by the idea of "put up or shut up." I'd like to see what somebody else brings to the table, since our incumbent hasn't put up, and he certainly won't shut up. Maybe Perry isn't the right choice, but neither is four more years.

  • Many decades before any of us were even a glimmer in anybody's eye, this nation embraced the idea of freedom of religion. Now, perhaps a better phrase might be freedom of beliefs.

  • Listenin' to the radio this morning on the way to my not-so-well-paying job, heard about the possibility of the Supercommittee cutting the contract recently awarded to Boeing for military refueling planes. Which is something Ms. Murray worked long and hard to get for Washington.
